Celestina is a Colorado native who has fallen in love with North Texas. She has lived in 7 states total! She is currently pursuing a master’s in nursing. Her passion is public health with an emphasis in maternal and infant health. Celestina is a part of the Tarrant county’s Child Fatality Review Team as well as the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Team. Celestina’s passion is lowering the maternal and infant mortality rate in North Texas. She has a little one who keeps her very busy. In her free time Celestina loves to spend time with her kiddo and go swimming and take him to his sporting events. Celestina is so excited to serve the North Texas community!
Karen is a Fort Worth Texas native and has been a nurse for 19 years. Karen has worked in pediatrics and mother baby. Karen enjoys being able to educate new moms and help with any needs or concerns as they adjust to life with a newborn. Karen is passionate about improving maternal/infant outcomes and is excited to see the impact of Family Connects in North Texas. Karen has three daughters and enjoys spending time with family, boating and traveling.
Nichele is bilingual and a California native who moved to North Texas in 2017. She has been a home visiting nurse for 12 years providing education and support to moms as they transition into a new journey on motherhood. Nichele is passionate about Public Health especially in Maternal/Infant Health. She is excited to work for Family Connects and continue to support mothers and bring her expertise to the team of great nurses. She is a wife and a mother of 2 boys. Nichele enjoys spending time watching her boys play hockey and travel when possible.
Dawn is originally from Chicago, IL, and has been a nurse for 18 years. Her background is in Labor and Delivery, PreNatal Specialized Care Unit, Specialized Care Nursery, Mother-Baby, ER and Behavioral Health.
Jennifer, although born in Pennsylvania, spent most of her life in Florida near most of her family. Her nursing career started in Florida and has been in the obstetrics field for almost 17 years. Jennifer’s experience has been in labor & delivery, mother/baby and high-risk obstetrics. Jennifer has enjoyed caring for mothers & babies over the years in the hospital setting but wanted to do more to see that they were continuing to thrive at home. She sought out public health in a way to continue that education. Jennifer enjoys educating moms and their families and connecting them to resources within the community that may be helpful for continued success. Jennifer is married, has a total of 8 children and 13 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family, loves traveling, gardening and crafting in her spare time.
Erin is a native Texan and has called DFW home for the past 15 years. She obtained a BA in Psychology from Baylor University and later returned to Baylor to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Erin began her nursing career in Critical Care and also has experience in surgical specialties including spinal surgery, plastic surgery, women’s health, and bariatrics. She later became a school nurse for Dallas Independent School District. It is there that she discovered her love of pediatrics and public health. Erin passionately advocates for children of all ages including those with intellectual and physical disabilities. She is thrilled that her nursing journey has led her to Family Connects and looks forward to connecting infants, children, and their families to local resources in their community. Erin is the proud mother of her son Drake. They love spending time together and enjoy pursuing their hobby of trail running and training for ultramarathons.
Nolita, is a native of Louisiana she received her BSN at Midwestern State University. She loves being able to help those in need. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family. Also, going on family trips or just having dinner together. She also enjoys the simple things of hanging out and playing games.
Karen is a bilingual registered nurse with a degree from Navarro College. She is a wife and mother to two children. Fort Worth has been her home for 23 years, a true DFW native. Working with Family Connects brings her joy knowing she is able to help families during this transitional period. She is passionate about being an advocate for her patients and helping them find the resources that they may need in order to succeed in their new family lifestyle.
Samantha’s 14-year nursing career has been in newborn care, mother-baby, with time also spent in Pain Management. Her passion is helping her patients adjust to their current life changing events. When Samantha’s not working to help her patients, she enjoys spending time with her family. A native of Mississippi, Samantha is a wife and mother, who also enjoys tennis, golf, crafts and sweet tea.
Stefanie was born and raised in Arlington, TX and has been a nurse for 14 years. She has worked labor and delivery and postpartum. Although she loves caring for women and newborns during their first few days postpartum, she is excited about improving maternal/infant outcomes at the population level and see the impact Family Connects in her own community. She is a wife and a mother of 3 children. She enjoys spending time with family, attending her kids sporting events and relaxing by their pool.
Michele is a North Texas native and has been a nurse for 16 yrs. Michele has worked in Maternal/Newborn and Early Childhood Intervention throughout her nursing career. Working in the community for so many years with ECI, she saw a great need for what Family Connects brings to North Texas and is so excited to be a part of such a program. Michele has one son and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Erin Fogarty has worked in clinical and community settings as a recreation therapist for the past 15 years. She has supported children and adults with chronic health conditions and disabilities in their goals to improve their health and wellness, community inclusion, and quality of life. She has worked to reduce health disparities for people with disabilities through community partnerships and coalitions. Erin and her husband have two elementary-aged children and she remembers what it was like, not all that long ago, to be a new mom with lots of questions. Erin is excited to support North Texas families through this important work.
Gloria is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish. She finished her associates in sciences and plans soon to get back to school and to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She has worked in the home health industry for 17 years and has experience obtaining authorizations for all the Medicaid programs. She enjoys helping families and it’s looking forward to being able to help new mom’s and connect them with the resources available within the community. Gloria is a mother and wife, has a 1 son, 2 stepdaughters and a furry baby who is the ruler of the house. Outside of work Gloria loves going to the beach and spending time outdoors as much as possible.
Kitty brings with her a passion for Healthcare Reform and Equity. Having lived and worked in South-East Asia, West Africa, Europe, and the US, she brings with her a rich understanding of diverse cultures and how perceptions affect the quality of healthcare received by people of color and minorities. She is committed to using these insights that she has gained over the years to bring sustainable change in the community. The desire to engage community members and empower them to bring about these changes motivates her. Knowledge and access to community resources along with patient-centric systems of care is the best way to improve Healthcare equity. Kitty holds a Dual Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Sociology (Inter-Ethnic Relations and Gender Inequalities) and a Bachelor’s in Science (Anatomy & Physiology and Child Psychology, Growth & Development). She is an avid photographer who loves traveling and hiking with her family and friends.
